How to Create an Alkaline Environment in the Body

pH levels within the human body are important. There is no overnight way to increase alkalinity in your body but making some major dietary adjustments is the best way to do so.

3 ways to create an alkaline environment in the body

  1. Eliminate acidic foods and beverages in your diet. You can see which ones are acidic or alkaline in this chart. Processed foods and refined sugars are classified as acidic foods, as well as soda, sweetened teas, processed fruit juices and sports drinks. Beverages that contain caffeine should be avoided, such as coffee, tea and energy drinks. Lastly, beer, wine, hard liquor, mixed drinks and any other form of alcohol should also be avoided.
  2. Eat alkaline-forming foods. As a rule, foods that are consumed the closest to its natural state are more alkaline. You don’t have to eat an all-alkaline diet, but an 80:20 ration between alkaline and acidic foods is recommended.
  3. Drink lots of water. Water flushes out acidic end products you consume with food. Protein sources from meat are primarily acidic, and protein is still essential for a healthy body. If you are hydrated, your body systems function normally and you can flush out these acidic end products easily.

A balanced diet that includes coconut oil is just one way to raise your pH level.
